Free Photos

I.  Every Stock Photo   is a search engine for  Creative Commons and Public Domain images.  Over nineteen million photos are currently indexed for free usage in student media projects.  Databases indexed include the Library of Congress and NASA.

To use an image, click on the thumbnail to see an enlarged photo, with attribution information listed at the right.

Membership is free, and may require students to register to download a full-size image.

II.  FreeTiiUPix is a website with hundreds of free photos and some reusable powerpoints for non-commercial use.   Pictures are organized by categories, and are free for educational use.
All photos have been taken by retired teacher Tiiu Roiser, who also prepared the shared slide presentations with her son Kevin.




All images are free, with no registration or membership required to use the site.
All images used must be credited to the site.


III.  Pixabay hosts public domain images for personal and commercial use submitted by photographers worldwide.  No attribution is required to the original author, and these high quality images can be downloaded without signing up.  

Here is an image I downloaded from the site taken by photographer Cornelia Gatz.   You can search for photos by subject or by photographer.  Note:  Shutterstock photos may appear on your search page.   These are NOT free.    Free photos through Pixabay will be grouped below the Shutterstock ad.
